Prior to taking up his post in Guildford, Alex served for six years as Director of Education for the Diocese of Rochester and was Acting Chief Executive Officer of a Diocesan Multi-Academy Trust.

An experienced system leader and former Local Leader of Education (LLE) in Surrey, Alex brings 25 years of experience in education. His career has included roles as a teacher, governor, local authority adviser, and primary headteacher of a Church of England school within the Diocese of Guildford.

Alex is also a Trustee of the Schools Alliance for Excellence (SAFE), a Surrey-based education partnership, and a Fellow of the Chartered College of Teaching (FCCT).
