PRESS STATEMENT - GCSE Results 2024

Weydon Multi Academy Trust (WMAT) comprises of eight schools, four mainstream secondaries; Weydon, Farnham Heath End, Woolmer Hill and Rodborough academies, three special schools; The Ridgeway, The Abbey and The Park school and one primary, Crondall School.

Overall, the GCSE results at the secondary schools in WMAT show an improvement on 2023 results.   GCSE results have now recovered to pre-pandemic levels and in fact, the performance at WMAT schools is an improvement on 2019.

Student progress has improved by a fifth of a grade at GCSE Maths and English.

The four WMAT secondary schools have all achieved improved outcomes in both progress and attainment scores.  892 WMAT students sat over 8500 examinations across many subject areas with an average grade achieved equivalent of a strong pass.

John Winter, CEO of WMAT said “These results are excellent and reflect the strong work ethic, skilful support and focus on academic standards that our vision for secondary schools sets out.  The 15 percentage points increase in strong passes for disadvantaged students is particularly pleasing.”

“Our progress scores for high ability students and those with learning support needs are also significantly above the national average.  Our overall progress score of 0.4 across all four schools is a wonderful testimony to the dedication of staff, students and leadership teams in each of our schools.”
